He feels sadness one day when it's raining. Sunny helps he feel less sad. The next day he feels anger. Sunny is there to help him explain how to handle his anger. The next day he feels frustration when he cant complete his homework. Sunny tells Sammy to have his parents help him with his homework so he isn't so frustrated. The next day when Sammy is worried Sunny tells him its okay to be worried but gives him positive things to look forward to. At the end of the book Sammy and Sunny are playing outside on a summer day and Sammy thanks Sunny for helping realize his emotions and how to handle them.

One rainy day, Sammy looked out the window and felt a little sad. He wanted to play outside, but the rain made everything wet and gloomy. Sunny, his fuzzy Teddy bear, noticed Sammy's frown and said, "It's okay to feel sad, Sammy. Let's find something fun to do inside." They built a cozy blanket fort and pretended they were camping in the jungle. Sammy's frown turned into a smile as he laughed and played with Sunny.

The next day, Sammy felt a surge of anger when his toy tower toppled over. He stomped his feet and clenched his fists, feeling like a big, angry monster. Sunny hopped over and said, "It's okay to feel angry, Sammy. Let's take deep breaths together and count to ten." Sammy followed Sunny's advice and soon, the anger melted away like ice on a warm day. They rebuilt the tower, and Sammy felt proud of his patience and calm.
