My name is Hayden and I am 10 years old and I moved from Hong Kong to England with my mum (Jo) and dad (Max)  and my sister.
We moved because my mum hated china and china is close to Hong Kong.
It was very emotional to say a good bye to all my friends I shed a tear at the airport.. We moved from Hong Kong to shrewsbury in shropshire uk

I went through the body check I even cried louder but nobody was there, the airport manager looked at me especially it is embarrassing because all of them looked at me they came towards me and said what happened I didn’t answer because I was too busy crying.

At the airport, I hugged my friends tightly. I didn't want to let go. They gave me a small gift to remember them by. I promised to write letters and send pictures. It was very emotional.

The flight to England was long. I watched movies and played games to pass the time. My mum and dad tried to cheer me up. My sister slept most of the way. I kept thinking about my friends back home.

When we arrived in Shrewsbury, everything looked different. The houses were different, and the people spoke with a different accent. It felt strange but exciting. My dad said we would make new friends here. I hoped he was right.

My first day at my new school was scary. I didn't know anyone, and the school was big. My teacher, Mr. McGrath, was very kind. He introduced me to the class. I made a new friend named Pacey.

On the weekend, my family and I explored the town. We visited a big park and saw many new things. My mum seemed happy here. My dad bought us ice cream. It started to feel like home.

We started to get used to our new life. I went to school every day and played with Pacey. My sister made friends too. My mum and dad found new jobs. We began to feel settled.

A New Routine

I wrote letters to my friends in Hong Kong. They wrote back and told me about their lives. I missed them, but I was happy in my new home. My family was happy too. I realized that moving wasn't so bad after all.
