The kind rabbit

In a forest so green and bright, lived a rabbit, fluffy and white. With big eyes and ears so long, he helped others all day long. He shared his carrots and his time, always gentle, always kind. The forest folk loved him so, for his heart had a special glow.

The Kind Rabbit

But one day a rumor spread, filling hearts with sudden dread. Some said the rabbit had a plan, to trick and fool every animal and man. They whispered he was sly and mean, and not the kind rabbit they had seen. The forest folk began to doubt, what the rabbit was all about.

A Whisper in the Woods

The rabbit noticed the change, it felt so odd and so strange. Friends he loved turned away, and no one wanted to play. He tried to show his heart was true, but no one believed, not even a few. The rabbit felt so sad and blue, he didn’t know what to do.

Misunderstood

Days turned into weeks so slow, the rabbit’s sadness began to grow. He hopped alone through the trees, feeling lost and ill at ease. No more laughter, no more fun, his days were dark without the sun. He wondered why they couldn't see, his heart was pure as it could be.

Lonely Days

The rabbit sat under a tree, asking, 'Why don't they like me?' He thought of all the good he’d done, and how he used to be their fun. But now he felt so out of place, with sadness written on his face. He wished someone would understand, and offer him a helping hand.

The Lonely Rabbit

One day a squirrel came by, and saw the rabbit start to cry. 'Why are you sad, my fluffy friend? Let’s see if your heart we can mend.' The rabbit told his tale of woe, and the squirrel listened, kind and slow. 'I believe you,' the squirrel said, 'Let's clear this up, no more dread.'

A Friend Appears

The squirrel gathered all the creatures near, and spoke with a voice so clear. 'The rabbit’s heart is pure and kind, these rumors are lies, keep that in mind.' The animals listened and felt ashamed, for the rabbit was not to be blamed. They apologized with open hearts, and promised they’d make a new start.

Clearing the Air

The rabbit’s smile returned so bright, his heart was filled with pure delight. His friends now knew the truth so clear, and held the rabbit very dear. They played and laughed all day long, singing together a happy song. The kind rabbit was loved once more, his heart of gold they did adore.
